 Introduction to Medical/Healthcare Practice AUGUST
Designed for the non-medical professional, this introductory course will examine the process through which the medical practitioner establishes, manages and maintains the patient-physician relationship, and identify attendant legal issues. Cases will be used extensively as an instructional tool and will follow the outline of (a) initial contact with the patient, (b) working diagnosis, (c) clinical management, and (d) legal issues. Course topics will include medical practice settings, patient safety, patient privacy, medical information systems, healthcare economics, medical terminology, clinical trials, and clinical research.
